As we expand our platforms to support new products, hospital sites and expand into international geographies, we have an opening in our Operations team. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Infrastructure Engineer to work with both UK & USA teams on the development and deployment of new software solutions delivered on a secure, fast and resilient global infrastructure.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with all areas of the business in product and strategic project planning including:
- Risk analysis
- Cost & benefits analysis and forecasting
- Operational and development needs
- Impact analysis
- Information security risk assessments
- Design and implement processes and procedures to support business continuity and support a 100% business SLA.
- Design and implementation of disaster recovery procedures, including regular testing.
- Work with the compliance team to implement necessary technical controls to support medical devices and maintain QMS records.
- Work with the engineering team to accelerate delivery of software to the business through automation and continuous integration.
- Work with the client deployment team to deliver new products and business solutions to clients, performing the following:
- Establish connectivity with the client through site-to-site VPN or deployment of managed encryption router
- Answer and satisfy any information governance documentation requirements or concerns
- Establish image pathway through connectivity with the client PACS
- Establish communication pathway through HL7 broker
- Meet with clients on-site as required as part of the deployment process
- Work with DICOM / HL7 brokers to create an end-to-end solution
- Work with deployment team to perform full end-to-end solution testing
- Provide supporting documentation and QMS records
- Provide handover and support to the operations team post deployment
- Provide ongoing reporting and support for the client integration
- Manage and maintain the global infrastructure, including:
- Public cloud environments
- Private cloud and physical datacentres
- Physical and virtual server estates
- Storage infrastructure
- WAN and interconnecting networks
- Client connectivity and integrated systems
- Take ownership of databases, their installation, scaling, resilience, maintenance, security and performance.
- Ensure infrastructure availability and reliability.
- Provide reporting on information held within the business systems, automating where possible.
- Provide 24×7 technical support (on a rota’d basis) to the business and clients.
- Provide 24×7 2nd & 3rd line technical support as part of an escalation path.
- Work with the operations team on issue management, root cause analysis, repeat problem prevention, automation and reporting.
- Keep task and project documentation up to date, provide regular management reports.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Linux operating systems (Advanced Level)
- Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (Advanced Level)
- Linux shell scripting (Advanced Level)
- Docker, Kubernetes and container cluster management (Advanced Level)
- VMware vSphere virtual environments (Advanced Level)
- Cross-vendor networking fundamentals including configuration and troubleshooting of the following:
- Routing
- Switching
- Firewall
- Load balancing
- DNS
- IPsec VPN
- Cisco IOS & ASA OS devices
- Intermediate level experience of Nagios monitoring systems
- Expert understanding of networking protocols
- Interpreting system and application logs
- SQL & NoSQL database management, including the installation of, scaling, maintenance, backup and performance monitoring – in particular MongoDB & PostgreSQL
- Data storage systems including Fibre/iSCSI SAN, object storage and data integrity mechanisms
- Business continuity and disaster recovery principles
- Cyber Security including application and operating system hardening, network security controls, vulnerability management
- Implement security tools, policies and procedures
- Physical hardware configuration and installation
- Raising and management of incident and problem tickets
- Experience of backup systems such as Veeam or BackupExec
